Nickel Sockets & Switches
Please choose a Nickel socket and switch finish below to see all the sockets and switches styles available in that finish.
All the non specialist ranges (modular, grid, floor etc) have the full range of light switches, plug sockets, dimmers, USB sockets, phone, satellite & tv sockets, fused spurs and more that you would expect to complete your room.
Nickel Sockets & Switches
Nickel finishes with a subtle golden hue are warmer than the sometimes sharp and clinical brightness of Chrome and Stainless Steel finishes, and can soften the decor of a room to give more welcoming atmosphere.
In addition nickel sockets and switches complement the warmer white tones of lighting.
All our nickel ranges include all the same types of sockets and switches you find in every non specialist range (floor sockets or smart home products), meaning you have complete freedom to choose the style to suit you rather than worrying about whether an item is available.
To keep your sockets and switches looking pristine and maintenance free, all nickel sockets and switches have a lacquer applied to the nickel finish.
Brushed Nickel
Brushed Nickel is a matt straight streaked finish to nickel sockets and switches, instead of the alternative all over matt effect of a satin nickel finish, giving a more regimented look to the sockets and switches.
As a nickel finish brushed nickel is warmer finish to complement other satin accessories like door handles and kitchen gadgets.
Old Nickel
Old Nickel is speckled worn look with slight flecks of grey and silver running through it to give the appearance of naturally aging uniformly across the socket or switch.
As older sockets and switches would not have had matching metal rockers, to keep in with the aged effect the switches are black, but up to the latest electrical standards of course.
Polished Nickel
Polished Nickel has the warmest finish of all the polished plates with a subtle golden hue, softening the decor of a room to give more welcoming atmosphere than the sharp and clinical brightness of the same mirror finish Polished Chrome and Polished Stainless Steel.
Using polished nickel sockets and switches can also complement the colour tones of warmer white shades of light more gracefully then the other finishes.
The subtle tones of polished nickel sockets and switches means they can be used to make a statement by bringing colour to more minimalist room designs or help fold your sockets and switches into a more involved room decor.
Satin Nickel
Satin Nickel is a buffed matt finish to nickel sockets and switches, bringing a subtle sheen to soften the sharper mirror qualities of a purely polished finish, and also removing reflections that can alter the appearance of socket and switch plates.
Black Nickel
Although alphabetically first, lastly we come to the one exception in the nickel socket and switch finishes, Black Nickel.
Black Nickel is a bit of a misnomer as the finish is essentially a black socket or switch plate with a chromed effect applied to produce what is probably the most highly reflective surface of all the finishes. As such Black Nickel does not really fit into any finish group and can be also known as Gunmetal, Bright Ebony and even Black Chrome.
A unique finish, Black Nickel sockets and switches have been used equally well in period houses with traditional interiors as well as completely contemporary properties to stunning effect.
